I also have not tried, but I’ve found this link: http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.php/Nokia_Smart_Installer_for_Symbian [wiki.forum.nokia.com]
It seems that Smart Installer does not work:(

I’m have tried with smart install, but it is fail while installing. Even I format my phone and setup it again.

I have seen on the Packages distributed by Smart Installer; only Qt 4.6.3 so application build with Qt 4.7 doesn’t work well and sometime it doesn’t work at all.

It’s a pleasure to help! You’re welcome. Hope they’ll release a Nokia SDK with Qt 4.7 soon since I cannot wait to port my little game for testing on my phone.

Hello,

does the size of the package to distribute with smart installer have an effect on the decision of downloading on ovi store or not???
i am a bit scare to use qt 4.7 because of that and most of the phone have qt 4.6.3 installed , what is your advise ?

I think you should wait for some updates to get more stable and better support on Qt 4.7.x on symbian. But don’t worry, the guys at ovi store checks every application, and if you are still don’t sure, you can ask them too ;)

On Ovi store you cannot use Qt 4.7 now. Its not officially supported yet.

Yes, even if it gets installed reverting back is not an easy process. So lets wait for the much awaited release from Nokia.

The Smart Installer (as far as I know) only has one supported Qt version, and that is 4.6.3, there is no possibility to publish 4.7 based apps in OVI yet
