Hmmm, I was getting suspicious of this too.

I noted down my points yesterday. didn’t do anything since then and this morning the points were still the same. Normally they should have been minus the points from the day 8 days ago.

In what way are those 7 days points important? We could use the space for other interesting stuff since in my opinion that page is a general switchboard to other places on devnet like the forum, resources, wiki …

Those points are part of the recognition system of DevNet. Other parts are the hall of fame on the left of this table, the number of posts listed, your “Area 51 Engineer” status and all this.
Besides seeing it as a recognition and incentive, you may use it also to monitor how much you have spent so far and if you should not concentrate on other things.

Can you elaborate on this please? I’m not sure what you mean about that.
Is there a place where you can see how much wiki articles you started, how much posts you answered, how much doc notes you added, how much tags and so on … on a weekly basis? And that influences what you’re doing?

Not as detailed as you are asking for. At least not that I am aware.
The overall number of posts are given as a number on the right of every of your posts.
The number of threads you have started you see approximately through your badges. You might have to go to the profile page. Other information must be in the system, but the interface is missing.

The “Top 5 this week” section is part of this post and no need to explain. You are the shooting star there. Others not seeing this information because they have rank 6 and higher can at least see through the gadget supplied by Vass for google chrome (qtdn badge).

If all this information is going to influence what you are doing is part of your working behaviour. Some may want to be on top of a hit list, some may want to stay in the background and others may not care at all.

btw i’m not the shooting star. the numbers are completely wrong in my opinion too. Those numbers cannot be correct for the last week.

I don’t need to be on that list. But there is no switch to turn it off.

In fact point calculation script failed while recalculating points for “edited doc notes” and “week point calculation” procedure wasn’t executed since last few days (After last deployment) :(

I wouldn’t say it is exactly fixed: you seem to reduce the points IN GENERAL, not only the number that appears it the “to 5”! ;-)

This is total of points all activity in last 7 days.

So what script does here is , it subtract point for activity older than last 7 days and check if member missed some point since last 7 days , if yes then it recalculate points for last 7 days.

in in this case script was crashing at some point so it didn’t subtracted point older than 7 days and so point keep increasing.

I’ve noticed my points decrease by 250 points. Could that be the points from the feedback poll on the Qt SDK? (If I remeber correctly, we were supposed to get 250 points for that)

[I had made the assumption that while trying to fix the bug you mention, you accidentally deleted points not only for these 7 days, but for the total sum.]

I have fixed issue for last 7 days point and since script was crashing so I fixed it and after last few days script was executed properly so I have expected some point adjustment.

As many of you feels that many points have beed subtracted then I will again test whole script on our staging environment and if some bug found that will be fixed.

I assure you all that no one will loose any point for activity he or she has done, because script go through each activity and reward point for that if it is missing in point system and removes some point if they have got some extra point.
