Hi! The right place to report such errors is the Qt bug tracker [bugreports.qt.nokia.com] .

BTW, it seems related with this bug [bugreports.qt.nokia.com]

I am not sure if this is the right place. At least this forum says “Installation and Deployment”, and as this is an installation problem, I posted it here. Should I be raising a bug for this???

when I try to run emulator for Harmattan, I get
“:-1: error: Deployment failed: Qemu was not running. It has now been started up for you, but it will take a bit of time until it is ready.” Any idea how to resolve this?

Just wait for qemu to be started. It does take a long time!

ok thanks for that info. So, how do I know if qemu is up and running. Do I need to keep pressing “Run” button to know that?

To use qemu you also need to select Meego 1.2 Harmatten API, the Harmatten Platform API doesn’t do anything. And indeed it takes some time to load.

Write “Qt”, not “QT” (QuickTime).

ok.. now it works. I was confused about how to select “MeeGo 1.2 Harmatten API”. Had to browse around to find it.

For info, this is available in “Projects”,=> if target “Harmatten” is not added, add it. Now in Qt Version tab select “MeeGo 1.2 Harmatten API (Qt SDK)”.

Now things should work. But my doubt is, why do we have “Harmatten Platform API” as default when this does not work.

qemu emulator crashes. With openGL mode set to “Auto-Detect”, it crashed and asked me to select “software rendering” instead.

When I booted up wit “software rendering”, it crashes.

Error signature
AppName: qemu_winxxxx.exe AppVer:0.13.50.0 ModName: egl.dll

Any help?

I just tried out the Meego 1.2 Harmattan emulator.
Using swipe with my mouse pointer works to show the 3 different base windows.

here are some screenshots.

screen 1 : apps
screen 2 : notifications
screen 3 : active apps This one doesn’t look realistic yet.

Have fun.

After several tries it seems i cannot show my hello world test app on the harmattan simulator. Has anyone achieved this?

I clicked all possible buuttons and app icons, only a “done” button appears.

I have experienced that this error can be caused by the Windows UAC / signature verification. Be sure to not miss any UAC / Windows prompts which ask for permission to install unverified software / hardware during install.

Did you succeed in running a test app?

Yes – without any problems. I tested it with a small “Hello world” example created by the Qt-Quick-Application assistant. After deployment the icon was properly added to the home screen and the play button inside QtCreator started the application.

Harmattan Emulator -

However, the speed of the emulator is – even with hardware acceleration turned on – highly questionable.

Yes, we really need patience with it. Thanks for the update. I will try again later on.

I used software accelerator because of some posts mentioning it crashes that way. Next try with hw accelaration.
