I also vote for community meetings, which is much easeier to set up with the groups now. And I think there are always some students, so maybe universities could provide the place in some cases I think.

I was at the Nokia Developer Workshop Budapest in May, which was great, and I’m looking forward to simalar events and maybe a seperet code camp or something like that. The power of a community could be great :)

Best thing that can be done is to organize regional meetings. For example I live in Balkans, and it would be great to do a regional meeting which would include Qt developers from all Balkan regions to attend in one place that is easy reachable by everyone. I am thinking on doing so :)

Yeah, that was what I’ve tried to suggest. I’m looking forward to see what the groups will capable of :) :P

I think Qt Developer Days in Europe is taking place on Germany because this country can be easily reachable on Europe, this year when I was to Munich I had a direct flight for ~3 hours I was in Munich, I think the same goes for all European countries.

That’s true too, and I have to confess that I do Qt for a hobby and maybe later for some more professional application. I’m ‘just’ an electrial engineer student in Debrecen, Hungary, and that’s why I cannot afford to fly to Munich and pay for all the services.

I see.

Usually companies where you work pay for your attendance on such gatherings. Sometimes they are not paying so you should think opening a savings account (I’m joking :P)

Yeah, but that only true if your work is connected to Qt, otherwise there is the saving account that you have mentioned :P and fortunately there will be local events organized by regional groups I think and hope :)

Yes, my work is relying on Qt completely, which I am very happy for.

India has huge mobile and embedded market.

So, I would suggest the Qt Developer team to make such kind of Event in India.

Europe guys! Any country in Europe near for you :) You will may go in any very easy, you don’t need visa, etc. For India, Russia and other non-EU countries, QtDevDays in own countries is easy (and sometimes one) chance take part on this event.

Vass, for Russia (European part) Europe is less or more near and not too difficult to get visa :) But if we are talking about Asia or Asian part of Russia then you are right.
