No “thanks” button like other forums ...

Would it be a good idea to have a “thanks” button like in other forums, which adds to a users points? I like to use it to show my appreciation to other posters for helpful information.

Cheers, Tom.

I agree with this, it will be nice to have “Thanks” button here.

I think the Devnet team is working on something similar. I doubt it will be a Thanks button so much as an upvote/rate up button.

Check out the thread [developer.qt.nokia.com] about it.

That’s quite a different concept really, what I am trying to rally is a thanks button for individual forum posts, that users use to show their appreciation and/or agreement with a specific post in a thread. Not an overall resource or maybe even thread. It allows a user to get appreciation for insightful information they post that people “like” :) talk.maemo.org has this as does meego.com forum.

Yea, I understand and agree. My point was that such a button will be a part of the reputation system discussed in that other post, otherwise there would be no way for users to gain reputation points.

Ah, okay. So there’ll be something similar in conjunction with that system. Fair enough :D
