Hm… it seems the options are “Manual approval” and “Auto-join”… in some cases a “Invite only” does make sense IMO.

You can request to join the group, but has to be approved by the admin of the group. So no harm I guess.

“Invite only” could also end up being an overhead on the admin IMO :)

Group have some settings available to “Group owners”.
Group Owners can change group for “Auto approval” or “Manual approval”

Also it is possible to keep group private or public.
Private group wiki and some other parts of it is hidden for non members.
Public group is readable by all.

Indeed, the moderation group has manual approval.

“Invite only” is a tricky animal, I’m not sure I’d vote for that feature.

I’d say it raised a good question and together we found an acceptable answer :) There is good value in that!

That’s what this forum is for, I suppose :) Different people thinks about things in different ways, and I don’t think that’s bad thing.

Main idea behind that is that I find it cumbersome to actually accept requests, easier to just invite people if needed. But maybe that’s not really what these groups are for.
