Get Video FPS using Qt Phonon

Hi all,
I’m developing a video player, and I need to get the FPS for a given video file.
It’s extremely important for my project.

How can I achieve that using Qt Phonon?

I’ve searched a lot for this, and all I get is people with no answers
http://www.qtcentre.org/threads/13731-Retrieval-of-frame-rate-in-Phonon
or this one, someone say to use Experimental::VideoDataOutput, but it seems to work only on KDE-Phonon and under Linux using xine:
http://mail.kde.org/pipermail/phonon-backends/2009-August/000301.html

Is there any mult platform elegant solution for that?

OS: OS X 10.6
Qt Version: 4.8

Maybe it’s better move to Qt Multimedia for a low level API?
