Chrome Extension for Qt DevNet usage support

I’ve just released a first version of a Chrome Extension for enhanced support of Qt Developer Network.

It adds a Qt API documentation search shortcut to Chrome’s omnibox: Just type qdoc + space or tab + the start of the class you’re interested in. A list of matching class names is loaded automatically and presented as a list.

On all pages with search results on the forums (e.g. Posts since last visit, unanswered posts, active topics, results of general searches), you get a “Mark as read” box, on hovering over a certain thread topic. Just click on the button to make that thread read, so that it doesn’t shop up in the search results anymore. This functionality is only available for the mentioned search results at the moment, but not on the regular forum listings.

On the options page (screw icon / tools / extensions) of this extension you can choose whether a topic which is “read” with the button is greyed out or entirely hidden and which Qt version should be used for the display of the API docs. Defaults are to grey out and use the site default of Qt Project.

Get the extension at the Google Chrome Webstore [chrome.google.com]

Big thanks to peppe, whose code for a greasemonkey script for a Per-thread “Mark as read” button is the base for the same functionality of this extension!

EDIT: Updated the description, thanks koahnig.

We are pleased to announce that version QtitanDataGrid 2.8 has been released. This release fixes all known bugs and much improved rendering of the grid in different styles. Improved grid API. Starting this point the development has been moved to the Qt 4.8.

	What is QtitanDataGrid?

QtitanDataGrid is is a commercial grid for Nokia’s Qt that offers a truly extraordinary possibilities to present tabular data to the end-user. Component absorbed all modern achievements in the area of the user interface construction for displaying tables. This Qt data grid component was created entirely in Qt/C++, which had a very positive effect on its speed, especially in cases with large and extra large sets of data. QtitanDataGrid is fully integrated with QtDesigner, so it will seamlessly fit into your familiar development environment and guarantees 100% compliance with the Qt GUI.

Qt 5.0 alpha released today

The Qt Project released the first alpha version of Qt 5.0 today. Rejoice!

Qt 5 comes with all kinds of awesomeness:

Amazing graphic capabilities and performance, especially manifested in constrained environments like mobile devices. Qt Quick 2 offers a GL-based scene graph, a particle system and a collection of shader effects. Qt Multimedia, Qt 3D and Qt Graphical Effects bring these features even further.
Developer productivity and flexibility, making JavaScript and QML first class citizens while keeping the C++ foundation and Qt Widget support. The new Qt JS backend powered by V8, Qt JSON DB and the addition of Qt WebKit 2 should make HTML5 developers feel at home.
Cross-platform portability is now simpler for OS developers thanks to the new structure of Essentials and Add-ons modules, plus the consolidation of Qt Platform Abstraction [qt-project.org]. We look forward to seeing Qt running in all kinds of environments!
Open development and open governance is assuring wider development and testing of Qt 5 by a growing community including developers from Nokia, the KDE project, Digia, Collabora, Accenture, KDAB and many more companies and individuals. Today we all celebrate!

Snowshoe, the first Qt 5 browser for Desktop and Nokia N9

Snowshoe is an open source project to build a cross platform browser application with multiple user interfaces while sharing the same core engine, based on Qt5 and WebKit2 technologies.
The user interfaces are implemented in QML and have a strong focus on both the usability and the user experience on different platforms – desktops, mobile phones, tablets, etc. Special attention is given to the requirements and restrictions of each platform, like screen size, input methods, memory and processing power.
The Snowshoe community is formed by developers, interaction and graphical designers from many places around the world and all the development is supported by Nokia Institute of Technology (INdT) , a non-profit organization in Brazil.
