I am looking to using Qt to develop specific applications for financial trading applications.

Reason: Gui development cross platform (Linux/Windows/Mac) is a pain, and Qt solves most of that and has the DB and Network infrastructure too..

What I would be interested in is starting a group to develop the trading specific stuff like FIX/FAST messaging, there are a few out there, but they are either restrictive, or use Boost (Barf).

	Anyone interested?

Hello

I have developed a couple of Qt based GUI applications with customized bitmap background and bitmap widgets within fixed size windows or widgets. Now I am starting to develop a new GUI application with all bitmap based custom widgets within sizable windows or widgets in order to support various screen resolutions. That means that I have to resize the background image and customized icon buttons accordingly. I don’t have a good sulotion at all on this new project and still researching and experimenting. If someone has already done this kind of project or has any good idea about how to design and implement for this kind of project, you could save me or other developers lots of development time.

	Thank you!

i am new to Qt and using java.
i want to get the html of a web-page AFTER generating all the javascripts AND after clicking certain “onClicks” buttons.
i managed to generate the javascripts by setting:
“QWebPage.settings().setAttribute(WebAttribute.JavascriptEnabled, true);”

how can i tell it to evaluate certain “onClicks”? i.e. press certain buttons on the page and then generate the html?

This is what I read in this site, about the new 1.1 Qt Sdk Beta. It sound me a little strange, because in most cases the new Qt has changes that don’t seems to affect the code of the applications, but only the environment. As a matter of fact the compiler and the engines are not so changed. But it is not so important.

Developing a new app (or importing an existing one) in the new environment, is best, so is possible to “downgrade” the finished and tested app (that use Qt Quick / QML for the UI) to the previeous 1.0 SDK / Qt 4.7, recompile and distribute through the Ovi market?

I am activating some projects I put on the Nokia project hosting platform, that is very complete and useful (I have already used other kind of platforms and this probably the best I ever seen).

One of the things that are not clear when a developer set-up a project for public, is what kind of license is set. This depends by the user documentation that he set in the project (wiki, sources etc.) of there is a default license that is set?

Thank you for any comment / advice.

Hi,

I’m starting to develop some Qt projects under the forum / community. The reason is because I think that these can be useful example projects for some specific application environments and because I trust in the effort that the community can give participating in these.

Every project is developed at the best possible using all the instruments from the Nokia project board like wiki, forum, source code etc. Is there a way, or a place where these can be announced and notified periodically so the interested developers can participate or follow, without to “spam” unwanted news on the groups and / or devnet forums ?

Open Source Vs Commercial Applications

Hi to all. I will start an “open” question: I’m developing several projects based on QT environment (not for the same platform) and actually I’m moving several other projects under this platform.
I ask if you think that is possible that every development project, paid and for some specific customer or company or … can also be used to give some part of this or some developed elements to the community as an open source component.
In terms of development approach, this means that in every project – this is my though – it is possible to focus elements that can be opened to the community without interferences to the commercial aspects of the global project.

Qt in library development

Hiall,

I represent a library focused on development towards a new main library in Oslo, Norway.
We’re looking for independent developers and communities with various expertise on toolkits.

In a public computer setting we’re using an open source patron system, libki.org, but the main developer is changing from php/gtk to c++/qt4 and needs assistance. Also we want to test out frameworks to present digital content on touch/multitouch/smartphone/infoscreens. Perhaps a hyperbolic tree on our catalog annotated with semantic information and enriched by user comments, reviews, etc. from Drupal/Sopac. Perhaps digital book collections geotagged and read in sensory armchairs giving minute associative information as the reader flips the pages.

Ideas, comments and willing contributors are very welcome!

Open source and semantic info is the core focus.

	Regards,
Benjamin Rokseth

One of the ideas I have for this group would be to include on the group WIKI is a “members application showcase” so we can get to know more about each other and hopefully find synergies.

In order to make sense to have this little project I would like to make sure that we would have enough to say and that other members find the idea useful.

My suggestion is to use this thread as a starting point, each member should list any open source projects that he is involved with, any application that they are working on that is publicly available (free or paid), a small summary and any related URLs (source code repository, where download the application, buy the application, reviews of the application, competition awards, …). Screenshots would also be very nice but I recognize they are still a little bt difficult to deal with.
