This Week’s Wiki Wins

Content is king, they say. It is especially true for us who want to make Qt developers lives easier.

Central place for written content is our wiki. And it’s coming along nicely, I must say.

Our two main white papers [developer.qt.nokia.com] have moved in some time ago already and more are on their way. The plan is to have them all on the wiki at some point.

There is a whole series of articles in the category Qt Internals [developer.qt.nokia.com] which are probably most interesting for the more advanced Qt users. They aim to give insight into the reasoning behind the way Qt implements certain features. All articles are originally written by Girish [developer.qt.nokia.com] one of our ex-Trolls.

The Mobility team has bravely undertaken an experiment and created wiki pages for each of their APIs [developer.qt.nokia.com]

Burkhard [developer.qt.nokia.com] is working on a whole Qt Quick tutorial [developer.qt.nokia.com] . The first 2 modules are done while the rest is still in the works. The tutorial is the result of his travels to far away places where he gave trainings on Qt Quick.

If you’re interested in more information about our Documentation make sure to have a look at David’s [developer.qt.nokia.com] articles filed under QtDevelopment [developer.qt.nokia.com]

Finally, a collection of smaller sized HowTos [developer.qt.nokia.com] are hopefully a good read while you’re waiting for your compile.

Do you have an idea what you could write about on the wiki? What would you like to read that isn’t there yet? Let us know in the comments!

It’s a very good idea and a way to have a lot of informations centralize !

Is there a easy way to translate the wiki in another language (keep track of modification, corresponding url, etc.) ?

I saw a Deutsch and Russian home page but nothing in subcategories. Is that on the roadmap ?

Thanks

John
